Wondering where all those who vilify Israel as a racist, apartheid country are today?
Israel's army just risked the lives of many of its finest, bravest young men to rescue a hostage from the claws of Hamas in a Gazan underground tunnel ["Farhan al-Qadi, 52, Bedouin father of 11, was found by special forces in ‘brave and complex’ operation, army says; he’s the eighth hostage to be extricated alive"]
There was no question, no hesitation about executing the highly complex operation because the hostage was a Bedouin Muslim.
Likewise, the welcome accorded Quaid Farhan Alkadi was nation-wide and joyous. Even euphoric for we have all been craving good news of this kind.
But it would also be uplifting to hear this concession from Israel's critics:
"Sorry. We were wrong. You do embrace all Israelis regardless of race, religion and creed. And you are the only such democracy in your region to do so."
Perhaps I'll hear that - in my dreams tonight.
